DWP support for Schools
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) work in partnership with Careers and Enterprise Company (CEC) to offer a support for schools programme. The information on offer will complement current careers IAG work and could include the following:
- information on local labour market including sector growth and employers in the area
- information on routes into apprenticeships
- help with employability skills including CV writing, interview skills and use of on-line resources
DWP can help to provide a bespoke service for schools and they are keen to state that the support for schools is demand-led, flexible and responsive and the school decides! The priority is to work with vulnerable young people (12 to 18), particularly those identified as potential NEET (Not in Employment, Education or Training).
