Work Experience Visit Service
2018 has been another very busy and successful year for the work experience team. In addition to supporting the 15 Bromley and Bexley schools that signed up to our Work Experience Support Package, the team processed over 4,000 database checks and carried out over 300 pre-placement visits adding to our database of over 15,000 employers.
It’s always encouraging to hear that the support we provide is valued and appreciated with one school emailing “Just a quick note to thank you for all your invaluable help and support over the last year, as always so efficient. You provide a wonderful service and it is very much appreciated”.
We’ve also had some notable successes for young people on our extended work experience placement programme. This programme is aimed at young people who would benefit from an alternative style and location of learning. George had a placement with TW Drainage in Orpington; he had 100% attendance and so impressed the company with his commitment and work ethic that they are now making arrangements for him to start as an Apprentice. Perry had a placement at Foal Farm Animal Rescue Centre. The support and encouragement he received from the team during his placement gave him the confidence to apply and secure an Apprenticeship with SC Motor Factors in Sidcup. Joe, having had an insight into the import/export business at Produce Plus in Westerham, has now secured a place at college to study business.
As always, our thanks go to all the employers who are committed to supporting young people by offering work experience placements. We’d like to give a special mention to Foal Farm Animal Rescue Centre, TW Drainage, Produce Plus, Chislehurst Road Garage and Bromley Children Project.
If you are an employer and would like to find out more about how you can support a young person through work experience then please don’t hesitate to contact us.
