Mentor Support Meeting
We welcomed Dr Ben Wellens to our recent mentor support meeting in November. Ben is a clinical psychologist with 10 years’ experience working in south east London with young people from infancy through to early adulthood. He has worked in community Child Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) teams as well as specialist services for children experiencing abuse and neglect, looked after and adopted children, children with autism and ADHD and those involved in the criminal justice system.
He gave a fascinating talk and mentors had the opportunity to ask questions. Many thanks to Ben for taking the time to share his expertise with mentors, they certainly found it interesting and thought provoking as highlighted by the feedback below:
“It was very informative and great to get useful links and websites to help with mentoring”
“Very informative and pitched at the right level for the audience. Interesting to learn more about CAMHS, both from a mentoring and professional perspective”
“Better knowledge of mental health and how it affects mentees”
“Relaxed format, allowing the opportunity to ask questions”
